Good Hope Studies Social Club

The Good Hope Studies Social Club organises a number of activities per week. You find the schedule below and you can book your favourite activities online. 

The activities are a great way to visit all the must-see places in Cape Town and surroundings. Our social club is also a great place to get to know your fellow students socially. Most importantly, however, it is a great opportunity to practice your newly-acquired language skills.

Canopy - Zipline Tour

Today we visit the Hottentots Holland Nature Reserve. Slide along steel cables from platform to platform, taking you past waterfalls and through valleys, enjoying all that mother-nature has to offer. With 13 platforms and slides up to 320m long, both nature and adventure enthusiasts will be sure to come back for more! On our way back to Cape Town we will stop at wine farm (Egin Ridge or Oak Valley) in the Elgin Valley to taste some of their wines.

2 Day Cederberg Experience

Day 1: Cape Town - Cederberg Area

We depart Cape Town and make our way inland towards the spectacular Cederberg area. Upon arrival we visit the Stadsaal Caves to view the Koi San rock art and a short hike before we move on to our overnight destination. 

Day 2: Cederberg - Cape Town

After breakfast, we have the opportunity to spend the morning exploring the area and go for another hike or do some additional optional activities in the area. Around lunch time we start to make our way back to Cape Town with an optional stop at the West Coast Ostrich Farm for arrival around 18h00 in the Mother City. Optional:

3 Day Garden Route Bungee and Safari

Day 1 - Friday:

Cape Town to Sedgefield via Oudtshoorn - We depart Cape Town early morning and head down Route 62 toward the town of Oudtshoorn, known as the "Ostrich Capital of the World". Here you will have the choice of visiting the Cango Wildlife Ranch where you can interact with animals or Cango Caves where we go on an adventure tour through some very large chambers with spectacular limestone formations that are millions of years old.

Day 2 - Saturday:

Sedgefield to Wilderness - We begin our day with a visit to a popular local farmers and craft market in the village and then make our way to an elephant sanctuary (optional activity) for orphaned elephants where you learn about, and interact with these gentle giants before we visit a Monkey Sanctuary where rescued monkeys roam free in a large jungle area (optional activity). Our next stop is always one of the highlights of the tour . . . the Bloukrans River Bridge, home to the world's highest commercial bungee jump at 216 meters! From here it's back to overnight in the Wilderness area. +/- 3 hours travelling time

Day 3 - Sunday:

Wilderness to Cape Town - After breakfast we visit a private game reserve on the edge of the Garden Route. Here we go on a safari game drive where you can see Lion, Buffalo, Elephant, Rhino, Cheetah, Giraffe and many more animals. After lunch we start to make our way back to the Mother city stopping for lunch and photo stops along the way.

Shark Cage Diving

Our route from Cape Town takes us past Hermanus and through to Kleinbaai. After breakfast we get on the boat to view Great White Sharks in their natural habitat. After the dive we head back for some lunch and then embark on the return journey back to Cape Town.
