Good Hope Studies runs the CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages) course for English language teachers, the most popular training course worldwide. We offer a full-time course, a part-time course as well as supplementary courses such as the grammar course for CELTA candidates.
The CELTA teacher training course is approved and moderated by Cambridge English Language Assessment, part of the University of Cambridge. In contrast to other TEFL / TESOL courses, the CELTA course is recognised worldwide and is often a requirement when teaching abroad at an English language school.
Experienced trainers, great facilities and a convenient location are key advantages when doing a teacher training course in Cape Town at Good Hope Studies.
Our teacher training centre is situated at our English language school.
Highly recommended for CELTA Candidates, newly qualified teachers or teachers who lack basic grammar knowledge.
There are employment opportunities for English language teachers both locally and internationally. With 20 years of experience in the English language travel industry, we have established a deep knowledge of the industry as well as many links worldwide.
We are always happy to share any information we have regarding employment opportunities with all participants of our teacher-training courses to assist them to find work.
All CELTA tutors undergo extensive training and are approved by Cambridge English Language Assessment to be able to run CELTA courses.

and we were teaching from Day 2..."
Su from South Africa
"It is impossible to pack a 4-week adventure
into a couple of sentences, but what first comes
to mind is the depth and thoroughness
of the course..."
Yekaterina from Russia
"Very appreciative of the effort put in to run the course amidst - and despite - unique challenges presented by Covid. The course has been brilliant and challenging. The tutors have both been extremely supportive and have given us every chance at success. I love that we got to practise what we learned with actual students. I now feel well-prepared for my first step into teaching. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication!”
