Who is it for?

Exam preparation courses are the right choice for:

  • students who need to prove that they have a high level of English for work, study or emigration purposes;
  • students who enjoy the challenge of a focussed course with clear goals;
  • students who are at an upper intermediate level and avove (TOEFL) when they start their exam preparation course;
  • students who are able to do one to two hours of homework a day to complement the course lessons.

Experienced teachers, small class sizes and personal attention to all students ensure the best possible preparation for the exam.

Compare our prices with others, but keep in mind that our lessons take 50 minutes each and that our classes are intensive, with a maximum of 12 students in a class.

Course details

In the morning, you participate in the General English 20 Course (Monday to Friday). Alternatively, you can also participate in the General English 16 Course (Monday to Thursday). In the afternoons, you then have exclusively TOEFL exam preparation (Monday to Thursday).

TOEFL

TOEFL, The Test of English as a Foreign Language, is accepted by US universities and many English academic and professional institutions.

The four-hour computer-based test consists of four sections that measure the four main language skills. The TOEFL test includes tasks which require integrating multiple skills, and all tasks focus on language used in an academic, higher-education environment. The speaking test is digitally recorded and not face-to-face.

TOEFL is only offered as an afternoon option in conjunction with General English in the morning.

The exam is run once a month in Cape Town. We recommend registering far in advance as the number of places is limited. Register online on http://www.ets.org/toefl/ibt/register/

Levels

An Upper Intermediate level or above is required for these courses. To find out which level is the most suitable for you, complete the online Placement Test.
